These include glass shelves, mirrors, and double-glazed unit replacements, as well as PVCu and aluminium windows, doors, conservatories, orangeries, and tiled conservatory roof replacements.
Through our dedicated Building & Construction teams, we also supply and install the revolutionary hup! home extension system. This innovative method offers a faster, more efficient way to build extensions, delivering a stronger, warmer structure with increased internal floor space.

Glen Batchelor
Role: Director & Shareholder.
I have been part of the home improvement industry since 1987, starting in production and working my way up through sales manager and sales director roles. This journey, spanning decades, ultimately inspired me to co-found EM Double Glazing and continue delivering exceptional service to our customers.
What I enjoy most about my role is helping both new and returning customers transform their homes, drawing on my extensive experience in the industry. It’s a privilege to work alongside trusted colleagues I’ve known and respected for many years.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and our two grown up daughters who inspired the name EM Double Glazing. I also enjoy sharing a day at the cricket or an occasional round of golf with my business partners.
Roger Carter
Role: Director & Shareholder.
With over 40 years of experience in the construction industry and as the owner of Carter Construction in Derby, my background has naturally led me to cofound EM Double Glazing. My role as Director and Shareholder allows me to draw on my extensive industry knowledge, providing strong logistical oversight and connecting the business with trusted suppliers and skilled tradespeople to support our growth and longterm success.
Having known my fellow shareholders for more than 20 years, we each bring unique strengths to the business, creating a balanced and effective leadership team.
Outside of work, I am a keen sports enthusiast. I enjoy skiing with my family, cycling, and participating in hockey, where I am also a qualified L2 Umpire.
John Blackwell
Role: Director & Shareholder.
I am a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years’ experience in the accounting profession, holding senior roles in larger corporate organisations and for the last 20 years as Finance Director in private owner managed businesses, this has now led me to co-founding EM Double Glazing.
I find the most enjoyable part of my role is utilising my experience to provide sound financial management, advice and stewardship to my colleagues and becoming deeply involved in an owner managed business where we can all make a difference. To work alongside colleagues, I have known for many years and where we can each bring our respective experience, knowledge and expertise together provides for an exciting journey.
Outside of work, I spend time supporting our daughter through university and when I can relax enjoy travelling and watching various sports, walking our dog and undertaking home improvements on our new house.
Jodie Bates
Role: Manager.
I have been part of the home improvement industry for five years. Throughout this time, working alongside Glen, I have broadened my knowledge and gained invaluable experience, which has led to my current role as Manager at EM Double Glazing - a position I am proud to hold. This is an exciting new business venture, and I am thrilled to be part of building something exceptional for our customers and community.
What I enjoy most about my role is witnessing the incredible transformations of our customers’ homes and knowing that I play a part in creating spaces they truly love. Being part of such a well-respected and dedicated team makes the experience even more rewarding.
Outside of work, I cherish spending quality time with my daughter. She is my greatest motivation and the driving force behind my commitment to succeed both personally and professionally.
David Boni
Role: Sales Manager.
I have worked in the manufacturing and sales of interior and exterior home improvements across Derbyshire and East Staffordshire since 1984, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience from some fantastic colleagues along the way.
In my role, I particularly enjoy meeting clients during surveys, discussing their requirements, and offering honest, practical advice on product choices, design, and colour. I never tire of seeing happy customers at the end of a project and always look forward to working with them again in the future.
I live in Hilton with my wife, and we have three grown-up sons. Outside of work, I enjoy walking the dog visiting Calke and Kedleston, reading, playing snooker, and watching sport.
